Conscious Of God’s Presence

Today : Conscious Of God’s Presence

TODAY’S VERSE
“And so I walk in the LORD’s presence as I live here on earth!” Psalms 116:9 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
I can only think of one thing greater than living in God’s presence. That is being “aware” that I am living in His presence! Have you ever been with someone and they acted as if you were not even there? You were with them but they were not with you. How often do we go through the day as if God did not even exist? Full of self sufficiency, we make our plans and schedules and live out our days without any conscious need for His presence. Oh, the occasional prayer, perhaps a devotional reading and even Christian music on the radio, but really walking in His presence?  How often, when we pray we say, “Lord we come into your presence” as if His presence was somewhere outside of our realm of daily existence? Now, perhaps what we really meant was, “Lord I am making a deliberate choice to focus on your presence.” But how much better yet, if we just stay focused on God and simply converse with Him? Walking in His presence means He is with us and we know it. It means we respond to Him all the time. Today, stop and realize He is with you right now. You are in His presence and He desires to have a relationship with you throughout the day.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, help me to realize that I am always in Your presence. Help me, through the power of the Holy Spirit commune with You and fellowship with you throughout this day. In Jesus’ name I pray.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I am conscious of God’s presence in my life
Quiet your heart and meditate on a peaceful place. Perhaps it is somewhere you have been, something you have seen or imagine. It is a peaceful place and you are in it. As you observe yourself in this peaceful place, ask God to reveal Himself to you. Sense God’s presence. Now visualize yourself going throughout your day, conscious of God being with you. See him there with you and you are relating to Him. Sense yourself being more and more conscious of His real and abiding presence as you picture yourself living throughout the day. Finish by affirming, “I am conscious of God’s presence in my life.”
