Today : No Worry

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.” John 14:1 (NLT)
TODAY’S THOUGHT
Who says? Have you ever disagreed with something someone said and challenged them by saying, ‘Who says?” Who said it can make a huge difference. That is why today’s verse makes such an impact. Not only is the content radical but the person saying it was even more radical. Jesus lived what He taught. If there was ever a person who exemplified trusting God the Father, it was Jesus. Even at His most darkest hour, when He fell to the ground overwhelmed at the thought of the crucifixion and taking on the penalty for our sins, Jesus trusted God. He asked God the Father to cancel the task but then qualified His request with, “Nevertheless Your will be done.” There are many things that can trouble us on any given day. Today resolve to trust God. Give Him your day. If your heart starts to get anxious, if you begin to fret, if you feel your blood pressure rising, give it back to Him. Today, don’t let your heart be troubled. Trust in God.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, there are so many things going on. I find myself getting all worked up. Forgive me for the sin of worry. Help me trust You and not worry, doubt or fret. In Jesus’ name.

I will trust God
Quiet your heart before God. Sense His love for you. Feel His power relaxing and calming you. Feel God giving you peace. Say, “Today, I will trust God.”
