Learn To Live Before You Die

Today : Learn To Live Before You Die

TODAY’S VERSE
“For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.” Philippians 1:21 (NLT)

TODAY’S THOUGHT
We often hear this verse quoted at funerals. And yet I have to ask, “How often do we think of the first part of this verse?” Paul wanted us to know that Heaven awaits us, but he never intended to diminish the importance of “living means living for Christ.” Do we live as if that part of the verse is true? If Paul reviewed what we did yesterday or looked at today’s schedule – if he walked around our home, talked to our family or those we work with, would he be able to say that “life” to us was “living for Christ?”
We will all die. It is very important to know our eternal destiny. Trusting in Christ as our Savior is indeed the only way to heaven. But please, God put us on this earth first in order that we would live for Him. Let’s learn to “live” for Christ before we die.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Father, I know that Your death for me on Calvary took care of my eternal destiny. It’s not the dying that is troubling me right now, it is the living. Help me understand how You want to bless my life. Help me get my priorities right. I give to You my “today.” Please guide me in all I do.
AMEN

TODAY’S AFFIRMATION & MEDITATION
I am living for Christ
Close your eyes and relax. Focus on today and say to God, “Today, I want to live for you.”  Take a deep breath and say it again, “Today, I want to live for you.” Reflect on what that means, note what comes to your mind. Visualize yourself loving others, living the way He would have you live. Finally, tell the Lord one more time, “Today, I want to live for you.” Feel a sense of resolve and peace as you open your eyes and finish this meditation.
